http://www.busyteacher.org : BusyTeacher is a new website that provides teachers with a large number or worksheets, lesson plans, and teaching advice. Teacher’s must sign up to access this site but registration is free and the materials on the website are worth the trouble. One can easily search for a particular topic or grammar exercise. The website is frequently updated and it is easy to find information for news or pop culture.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/language/ : This website is a great tool for students or teachers to practice learning on their own. It provides a great deal of news articles with accompanying videos, vocabulary words, and exercises. The materials available on this site provide a great way to integrate current events into everyday lesson plans. It also has interactive activities focused on grammar and idioms.

http://www.eslflow.com : This site has great ESL resources for teachers almost every topic imaginable. You can easily search topics and find lessons for different levels of English. Many of these lessons use the communicative technique. This site includes lesson plans, icebreakers, brainstorming ideas, games, surveys, worksheets and more!

Many current articles about American culture and events in ESL teaching are presented here. Search “Lesson Plans” for great ideas about a range of topics, including food, weather, and American culture.

Their website includes an online dictionary, great teaching resources, readers, teaching tips, and, under “ELT World”, a section of up-to-date articles about the latest news and events in English language teaching.

http://www.breakingnewsenglish.com : This excellent and easy-to-use site has English lessons for current events. With archives you can search, when you’re looking for a specific topic you can find a lesson to go with it. The site includes links to lessons for business English, environment, health, lifestyles, famous people and gossip, technology, and world news.

http://www.esl-lab.com : This website is an interactive cyber listening lab complete with audio files including adult and children’s voices, pre- and post-listening activities, and online scoring for immediate feedback on you or your students’ progress. There are quizzes about a wide range of topics from easy to difficult levels. You can also find 20-minute vocabulary lessons and a listening self-study guide for students and teachers here. An excellent place to practice English on your own!
